I met the Harkey Family after I met with Taylor on a job during the summer. Taylor is an art director for a local ad agency. What a beautiful family. I had such a great time working with them, even though Taylor was under the weather and looking a little green, you can't tell though, ahh.. the wonders of PhotoShop ;)
Thanks for looking.

Elizabeth -N- Rich are from Rochester, NY. They moved to Austin just this last year.
They decided to have a small, very small, ceremony in Austin to commemorate their union. They're planning a big reception in their home town this spring. Their guests included both sets of parents and themselves at the Zilker Botanical Gardens. They held their reception dinner at Red's Porch on South Lamar, which was proceeded with pints of beer and games of washers, of course.

I am madly in love with Hacienda del Lago, which you may already know I cannot stop singing their praises, the location is completely out of control. I shot a bridal portrait out there in September 2009 and feel in love with one particular image, the bride in her long flowey dress walking on the path toward the house at exactly the right time of light. It reminded me of Palm Springs circa 1960. So I started researching the era, decor, fashion, and style. I met with Margaret Bedikian of 3 Apples Events and we together poured over more images from the era, and with that, our concept and visuals really came together and started to take shape. We got together with Kari Shelton of Wow Factor Design Co., brilliant. Armed with our concept and colors Margaret found Wicked Cakes who made our awesome inspired cake and Paige's Bake House who made those completely adorable and absolutely delicious Petit Fours. The models were a no brainer, a couple we worked with for their wedding in February, who have become a part of our family, Brandi and Lee Barnwell. None of this could be possible with out fantastic styling from Shannon Yarbrough without whom we would have no dresses (Linda Asaf, Blush Bridal, Bella Saison) headpieces and accessories (Tracy Tenpenny, Millistar) or men's where. Rentals from Premier Party Central who supplied us with all of the white for our backdrop. Austin Catering created those bite sized pieces of pure art on a plate and lastly Brizy Tait of Keep Austin Gorgeous knocked it off the charts with her beautiful hair and make-up.

Last October I got to get a great group of talented and completely lovable vendors together, a few people I don't mind spending 5 am with. We collaborated seamlessly.

Mary and Alan met in high school and these images are taken on, or near campus where they met, or his parents house and the path from school to his parents house, moments in time for a couple who have been together for 10 years. I love them. I think the locations were really meaningful and exciting to me. It's always a thrill to go into a completely new environment and make something awesome from it.
They met in High School and studied music together here and in South Africa. They are both recent graduates and recently employed music teachers. I'm so happy to know that my son will thankfully be able to experience the riches of music in school, thanks to these 2 and many, many others.
It was a pleasure to work with them, We're excited for their cute Tuesday wedding in December.
We absolutely love the pics! Thank you so much. We have 35 that we chose and absolutely adore.

Day of the Dead themed nuptials, and their Austin Engagement session see it here.
I have a background in photography and design, and consider myself pretty good at spotting the real professionals when it comes to photos. After seeing so many terrible wedding photographers online and at bridal shows when my fiance and I were looking around, I was so relieved to find someone who I enjoyed talking to and being around AND who really knows what the hell she's doing. Melanie prices are reasonable, and though she's super busy she's responsive and listens. My fiance and I had an engagement session that wound into the night, running around to different locations, and we were so blown away by the photos that we knew for sure she'd have to do our wedding. Everyone who saw the engagement shots was super impressed. I've done some modeling before- and even pro photographers usually end up with mostly bad photos and a few good ones that they use. Mel had way more good ones from the session, all frame-worthy and images we'll treasure forever. We just had our wedding and I'm holding my breath waiting for the pictures. All of our guests commented on how fun she was, and how she added to the fun quirky atmosphere of the reception. Number one things I've heard from every bride I know- don't skimp on the photos! It's the one thing you'll regret from your wedding.
Alanna Mejia (slightly modified) for the whole review see it on Yelp.
We weren't going to have an engagement session, but my fiance and I won a drawing at a wedding event for a session with Melanie. We were so excited to have this little extra- but when we got the images we were even more excited. We knew we had to have her and Steve shoot our wedding. Really, there're a lot of so-so photographers out there, especially for weddings. You don't get to have a do-over on your wedding day, and you HAVE to make sure you have someone amazing because you keep those pictures and memories for life. They should be the best you can get- and I assure anyone who asks me - You'll be blown away by what you get from She-n-He.

They met at the sorority house and their sisterhood has lived on ever sense. They had their portraits made before they left school, as much as I could gather is was about 5 years ago, they were getting together in San Marcos for Homecoming weekend so they decided to have their progress portraits made. I LOVE this idea. EVERYONE should have professional portraits made, regularly. Thank you ladies, I had a great time working with you.
Thanks so much! these are too cute! I love them

 I love Amy and Keith.
When we first got together we decided that Keith is a fan of movies and they wanted to do something for their engagement that had to do with movies. I know there are a lot of typical things in Austin to do on the subject, but I wanted to do something different. So I did some painstaking research and found a functioning drive-in near Waco. When we arrived we found out there is a fully functioning albeit totally creepy miniature golf course right next door.

It was a fantastic shoot and family affair, Amy and Keith came together and I brought B and He. We stuck around after the shoot to watch Mega Mind at the drive-in. Very Good Times.
We love the photos! We are so lucky to have you as our photographer!!
