Tin Top - Austin Family Photography /
Tin Top, Texas August 2010.
Our second Annual Grizzel, Howard, Parks, Howe family vacation. 3 days in a house together, watching our babies grow up every year. Getting to know each other. Cooking, cleaning, playing games together, going for walks, drinking coffee, and looking at stars. It's simple, joyful and memorable.
Charming South Austin Backyard wedding - Austin Wedding Photography /
Denise and Dan... What can I say. I spoke with Denise about 2 months ago by phone, we got on so well she booked us on the spot.
She and Dan have been working on the remodel of their home for 2+ years and they knew this year was the year to finish. With their wedding last week they wanted to have a wedding and a house warming, rolled into one. "It's a dinner party, with a ceremony." says Denise, she wanted to make sure, above all else, it was comfortable and casual and she wanted it captured just that way. Sounds good to me!

I found this yesterday while just having a look at Green Wedding Shoes. These are replicas of Steve's (HeDesign's) custom design carved onto a watermelon. Wow, beautiful.
Congratulations to Renee and Brett.

Charlie Heras - Austin Children's Photographer /
Charlie Heras. The newest addition to the Heras Family. We had the pleasure of photographing Linsey and Marcos' wedding last year and they are a positively delightful family. So we were honored when we were asked to photograph sweet little Charlie and big brother Ben for their first family portrait. Unfortunately, Marcos was working. Next time for sure.
Barr Mansion Tasting Event - Barr Mansion Weddings - Austin Wedding Photographer /
The date is set and the location chosen. Now for the food! Thats what several couples were thinking August 6th, when they came out to Barr Mansion to sample the food they had been hearing about. All organic, of course. Nothing but a minimal carbon foot print for the ever earth-friendly Barr Mansion. The highlight, and incidentally the centerpiece of the evening, was the butternut squash martini bar complete with brown sugar for the sweet and roasted seeds for the savory lovers. It was a beautiful evening all around, and love was in the air! Exquisite floral design was supplied by the brilliant Abbey Dagle of Stems Floral Design. The scene was set and carried through by the creative folks from Loot Vintage Rental. We had a great time and the food... delish. But we expected that!

Maggie -N- Jay - The Hills of Lakeway Wedding - Austin Wedding Photography and Design /
Maggie -N- Jay met at work. They both work in petroleum in Houston. I giggled briefly about how exciting their job must be. :) Maggie was quick to remind me that without her division, B would likely be peeing all over the place with no substance in that diaper to keep it tidy. THANK YOU MAGGIE!
They are a perfect match: a little of this, a little of that, and WILDLY IN LOVE. I am so happy for you guys. Congratulations!

Mitzey - Ella - Delilah - Austin Wedding Photographer /
On our last style shoot we wanted to incorporate fashion but knew that our time was crunched. We opted for a mannequin who could take on the persona of any of our concepts. For each concept she had a new name. To get started I went with Mitzey, you'll see why shortly. For the second shoot, we all came up with Ella and then at the end of the day, Delilah was the overwhelming consensus. I am still editing and processing. I can't wait to share it! Soon. Very soon.
Here she sits in the window at the first morning's light, waiting for her lift home.
Thank you Leslie from Dress Shop for our muse.

Anna -N- Rohan / Thurman's Mansion Wedding / Austin Wedding Photographer /
Anna -N- Rohan
were wed at the end of May at the lovely Thuman's Mansion in Driftwood, Tx. Anna had her heart set on a destination wedding but decided Austin would be destination enough from the pairs D/FW digs. They chose the mansion for Rohan's deep love of BBQ (they are run by and are 100 feet from the famous BBQ house Salt Lick.) Keri from Wow Factor was responsible for those gorgeous flowers.
After only one teeny, set -back Anna was stung by a wasp, on the finger before their grand entrance into the hall. She shook it off like a champ. The party got started right with BBQ and Heineken. Then dancing, tons of dancing, cake cutting and eating and Anna' Grandpa leading the charge with an effervescent choreographed version of YMCA! I haven't laughed that hard in a long long time. Thank you for having us guys!
Congratulations to you, we wish you all the best.
Do you want to have a look at Anna -N- Rohan engagement session from one week before?

Kathleen -N- Nick - Vintage Villas Wedding - Austin Wedding Photography /
Kathleen -N- Nick how I will miss thee. What a perfect match, so deliriously in love with one another, there energy is infectious. I can't wait to see you again in 10 years. Best Wishes.
We got to go to New York to shoot their engagement session. It was a part of their lives that most of their friends and family didn’t get to see. They decorated all of Vintage Villas with their engagement pictures. FUN!
Thank you- I can't wait to see them! By the way, EVERYBODY at my wedding kept telling me how awesome you were. Thanks for making them laugh and feel so comfortable in front of the camera!

Corrine test - Austin Photographer /
I have been working on updating my commercial portfolio, as you may already know. My commercial side was very successful but She-N-He was an instant wild success so, inevitably, our commercial work has fallen by the way side. I REALLY enjoy the work and even without redoing our portfolio or otherwise promoting we are still getting some work. Thank goodness for on-going promotions like ComArts in 2006 (I get a lot of hits from that), and obviously, returning clients. This fall (commercial's busy time), I am going to relaunch my website and really start promoting this work again. Photography is my passion and I find that if I have a hand in a few pots I enjoy shooting everything better. This is a test I completed with the help of Kaylin Johnson (make-up), Angela Parker (LucieMarie) hair, Dress Shop (wardrobe), and obviously the lovely Corrine, our model. It took a little while to get these done but it was a foray in elaborate retouching. I have been staring at this location for, literally, years. I wanted it to look a certain way and it does, now. Please enjoy, I can't wait to hear what you think.

Lewis Family - A south Congress Family Portrait - Austin Family Photographer /
Leila surprised her husband with a Father's Day family session. Clearly he must have known something, I'm not sure they travel in matching outfits. Or perhaps they do ;) They did great! And here I thought I was working with normal people and Ben pops out with "Depth of Field" and I knew I was working with people who can "See". Little Ben, the 2 year old, was the best baby I have ever worked with, hands down. Way better than my own 2 year old. Leila was photographed on South Congress for her maternity shots a few years ago, so they chose that location again. It's an over used area. I try not to shoot there that much but it does make it that much more fresh for me when I do get down there. I do love exploring the area. The Lewis Family was WONDERFUL to work with. I hope to work with them again. Thanks for having me.
Anna-N-Rohan - A Fort Worth Engagement - Austin Engagement Photography /
Anna and Rohan met in the office (they're both in accounting). At first, she ignored his advances, but finally gave in and went out with him. And a good thing she did. Rohan, I have never met ayone who needs his joe as much as you do. Thank god for Starbucks! He even had a Starbucks logo-shaped grooms cake made of, you guessed it, coffee cake. Far and away, THE best wedding cake I've had the pleasure of enjoying. More on that later.
They live in Fort Worth, but their wedding was in Austin(ish). So we got together in Fort Worth to photograph their engagement session. The Fort Worth Water Gardens was their setting, a place we all remembered from childhood outings. It was gorgeous to shoot there. I imagine Fort Worth photographers shoot there all the time, but it was fresh and inspiring for me. I love to travel for sessions and weddings! A note to you all ;)
Thank you Anna and Rohan for having me along for your special day. I will edit your wedding soon. Promise!
